When shopping for canned tomatoes, try to avoid the ones that look so full like they’ll pop at any moment. We ran across this story at Wives Town Hall Connection and wanted to share. Unfortunately, a mom was cooking for her husband and 3 sons when the can exploded. Aldi have have apologised to Natalie and will investigate if she returns the tin to the store.
The mom , said: “I was in the middle of cooking a chilli when I picked up the tin of tomatoes to add to it.I pulled back the ring pull and as soon as it broke the seal it just exploded with a really loud popping noise which made me jump. There were tomatoes everywhere and everything was covered – the kitchen counters, the floor, the cooker, the kettle – but somehow I got away unscathed. The tomatoes in the tin were bubbling over the top of the tin. They were fizzing like when you shake up a fizzy drink and it explodes. It was so weird – I have never seen anything like that before.”
