AGE GAP DICTATES HOW LONG YOUR RELATIONSHIP WILL LAST

Hey Loves,

Hope all is well. I ran across this topic at Miss Petite Naija and I had to share my opinion. Apparent there was a study done by Andrew Frances and Hugo Mialon from Emory University. This study stated that the smaller the age gap between partners the stronger the chance their relationship will last.

The study was done in Atlanta and surveyed 3000 people.  The study found that the most successful couples had no more than a one year age gap! They found that these couples only had a three percent chance of breaking up. They  also found that with a gap of five years a couple are 18 per cent more likely to break up than age equals. The odds go up to 39 per cent with a 10 year age gap, and 95 per cent with a 20 year gap.

Not to be rude…. but I think this is complete rubbish!!! This is just another example that not every study is right.  And you can’t believe everything you read. Maybe the researchers should have looked at cupels in different states. Or a larger amount of couples. If that was the case almost all of our parents would be broken up. Most people prefer to marry older men because they find that they are more settled, responsible, and mature. Many women like to marry as young as 25. And many men are no where near marriage material at age 25.

What are your opinions? Please comment below?

  1. They got it backwards, the larger the gap the longer the relationship will last in my opinion!

    1. It just shows you that not all studies are correct. I saw another study saying that you shouldn’t tell your child they are smart because they will feel everything will come easy to them and not try hard…
