Hey Ladies,
Bad news! According to CNN officials have confirmed Zika transmission in Florida. 4 people have been confirmed to have be infected with the life altering disease. This is horrible news for those in the area that may be pregnant or trying to conceive.
According to the CDC:
- Zika is spread mostly by the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito (Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus). These mosquitoes are aggressive daytime biters. They can also bite at night.
- Zika can be passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus. Infection during pregnancy can cause certain birth defects.
- There is no vaccine or medicine for Zika.
We will keep you posted on any updates. Stay safe!
xoxo
