OUR TRADITIONAL IGBO WEDDING

Hello Ladies!

While on the subject of my wedding… I would also like to share with you pictures from my traditional engagement. In the Nigerian culture many brides have what they call a white wedding which is the church ceremony most people are accustomed to and a traditional wedding as well.

In the Igbo culture the traditional wedding is a wine carrying. The bride receives wine from her father and then searches through the crowd for her husband. She then kneels before her husband and he drinks the wine. They are then officially married. After this the bride returns to her parents for an official blessing. Then the new couple go to the grooms parents to also receive a blessing from the grooms parents.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and video! Please like comment and share!

xoxo
