My family and I recently celebrated the upcoming arrival of our bundle of joy with a Sunshine themed baby shower! It was held at a club house in Laurel Maryland. A few of my close friends and I did the decor and catering.  Even though this goes against shower etiquette rules 101 it was easier for my family to do it this way. We enjoyed every moment of the shower! I will share all of the DIY projects that I did for the event in later posts =)

DIY photo backdrop that I created myself. I loved the finishing outcome. I also used uplighting to give it a splash of color!

To go along with our Sunshine theme we gave Barefoot white wines tied with yellow ribbon as the game prizes.

In the beginning of the event we served light finger foods until the actual meal was served

I also handmade napkin folds for the cutlery that read “Baby Ofoegbu’s Shower”

My beautiful friend was nice enough to purchase this cute sunshine themed cake =)

On the cake table we also had popcorn, water, and yellow candies

For beverages we offered lemonade served in mason jars and a mimosa bar

All of the ladies were encouraged to wear yellow. We also gifted them white floral headbands.

Before the event officially began we all stood in a prayer circle to say a prayer for the new baby!

Aside from the photo wall I also made a picture frame prop that could be passed around
